Closure of Rockliffe Hall restaurant

Rockliffe Hall has been forced to temporarily close its main restaurant due to staff issues related to covid.

The hotel announced on Monday that the luxury resort’s Orangery dining room will be closed until July 29.

In a statement posted on the hotel’s Facebook page, General Manager Jason Adams said:

Here at Rockliffe Hall, we rely on our greatest asset, our team, to make our customers’ experiences unique and memorable. Over the past two days, a number of our Orangerie kitchen team have been contacted by NHS Test and Trace and asked to self-isolate.

Although the whole team is doing well, unfortunately we are in a position where we are no longer able to operate the cuisine of the Orangerie at the high levels of service that we aim to offer as a five star hotel, and so made the difficult decision to close the restaurant including afternoon tea, spa day lunches, room service and dinner until Thursday July 29th.

This will allow our team members to stay safe and rest at home in accordance with the law and government requirements.

Breakfast at the Orangerie will remain open for hotel guests and the Veuve Clicquot champagne bar on the terrace will remain open for drinks only. The spa, golf course and clubhouse restaurant will remain open as normal.

We would like to reassure all customers affected by this closure, that all customers will have full flexibility to change their reservation to a new date if they wish.

This decision was not taken lightly, but the health of our team members and guests remains our number one priority.
