1. Old World Coffee and Ice Cream

This corner store on Corning’s Market Street, near Centerway Square, is the perfect place for a midday meal without breaking the bank.

Choose from grilled paninis, homemade soups and sandwiches for less than $15.

The cafe is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday to Saturday.

2. Thrown

Tossed on Market Street in Corning offers classic prepared salads at an affordable price.

Rice bowls are just $11, with pitas and wraps ranging from $8.95 to $10.95 and Greek dishes and specialties ranging from $6 to $13, making this the perfect place to eat. eat cheap and eat healthy.

3. Jim’s Texas Hots

Jim’s Texas Hots has been in Corning for over 30 years and specializes in hot dogs, but also sells a wide variety of subs and sandwiches.

Get a hot dog with meat sauce for just $3.25 and subs for just $7.50.

All of Jim’s menu items are under $10.

4. Chez Aniello

This famous Corning pizzeria offers slices for just $2.25 and hot/cold subs for $8.75 are sure to fill you up, or a combination of the two will still run you under $15.

It has been on Market Street for 48 years and the restaurant’s website suggests that all recipes are made from scratch and bread is made daily.

5. The Butcher’s Son

Butcher’s Son in Corning is quickly becoming known for its great burgers and large portions, but it also offers affordable food.

The regular menu offers salads for $10 and customizable quarter-pound burgers for just $10. And to boot, the meat is locally sourced, pasture-raised, and free of antibiotics and hormones. Butcher’s Son also offers gluten-free buns. A burger with fries will set you up around $15.

6. Campaign Ad 2

Country Pub 2 in Painted Post offers great prices as well as drinks and daily specials.

You can grab what it calls Grillers for $9.50 and add fries for just $2 to put the price around $11.50. Several grilled cheese sandwiches are available in the $9 to $10 range. Grab burgers for as little as $9.50 and a specialty burger like the Boom Boom Burger, with special sauce and bacon, for $12, and an extra $2 for fries is still under $15. Hoagies served with fries are $9.

7. Elbow Room

The Elbow Room is known for its wings, but a deeper dive into the menu will show that this Elmira staple has more to offer.

The Blake Burger, a grilled cheese sandwich with a burger inside, is just $8.95 if you’re looking to try something different, while a regular bacon cheeseburger is just $8.75. The steak salad is only $11.95 and the salmon salad is only $11.75.

The sandwiches are also reasonably priced and range from $7.75 to $8.95.

The wings will get you just over the price from $15 to $16.20 for 15.

8. Dinner

The Diner in Horseheads is built from an old train carriage and is a busy place in town.

For breakfast, get three pieces of cinnamon French toast for just $7.99 and add home fries or hash browns, two eggs and toast for just $3.99 more, providing a hearty breakfast for well under $15. Omelets range from $7.99 to $12.99 and include a choice of cheese, hash browns, or home fries.

For lunch, burgers will cost up to $10.50 and fudge and wraps are under $11, and most subs are under $11.

9. Central hots

This hot dog restaurant in Elmira has been around since 1941 and also offers burgers and other dishes at affordable prices.

Stock up on hot dogs for $2.50 (add cheese for an extra 25 cents) or grab a double cheeseburger for just $4.50, a Philly cheese steak or chicken sub for just $7, $50. Central Hots also serves ice cream that will always keep you under the $15 threshold.

10. A Bit of Grace

A Bit of Grace offers Southern, Caribbean and modern American comfort food in Elmira.

Savor entrees like jerk chicken for just $13.99, southern fried chicken for just $11.99, and fried pork chop for $12.99. All entrees include two sides, which are mac and cheese, steamed vegetables, cornbread, yams, collard greens, or rice and peas.

Also try the Chicken and Waffles ($13.99), Fried Catfish ($12.99), and Island Pasta ($9.99) all of which are under $15. Burgers are also available with the most expensive $10.99.
